Spa Day at Home during quarantine
Do you want to take some time for yourself and relax during these troubling times? I definitely do and since most of us have plenty of free time it’s time for a Spa Day at home! Get ready for the most relaxing day you probably had in a long time.
You can always make your Spa Day into a date with your friends or your boyfriend/girlfriend to relax together! For more Date Ideas at home:

Set the Mood
Now before you even begin on the self-care part you need to set the mood. If it’s late afternoon you can shut off the lights and keep smaller side lamps. If you want to start your spa day early make sure you have as much natural light as possible.
Light some candles. For me candles are absolutely necessary for a successful spa day at home. Candles will provide you will amazing soft light and the right scents will help you relax even further. The scent is of course a personal matter but I love citrus scented candles. Also, lavender candles are guaranteed to sooth your nerves.
Put on your most comfortable and stylish (it’s a spa day after all, you want to feel good!) set of loungewear or pajamas and put on your favorite music. You can go for something relaxing like Ocean Weaves but I always just put my favorite songs!

Last but not least, get something to drink. I’m leaving it up to you. From warm tea to some wine. I’m partial to wine.
Now you’re ready to really start your Spa Day at home.
Hair Mask
A spa day at home is the perfect opportunity to properly take care of your hair. There are so many of us who dye them or do highlights or just have difficult hair. I always try to keep my hair in good condition but I can say I’m always successful.
I would suggest a good hair mask or if you don’t have one some coconut oil or any other oil for hair. If you’re using a hair mask shampoo your hair as usual use a good amount of the hair mask focusing on the ends but don’t forget the rest of your hair. Tie your hair in a bun and go on with your spa treatments; you want to leave the hair mask for at least 30 minutes before taking out. If you are using hair oil you should use it on dry hair and leave it before shampooing your hair.
Face Treatment
Personally I always start with a nice face steaming session in order to open the pores before doing anything else. Use a glass bowl with hot water and a towel to steam your face. Also you can add essential oils in the water for a pleasant scent.

After steaming you can use a mild face scrub or skip this step and do a face mask, either your favorite face mask you probably always use or you could even do a DIY mask with products you already have in your kitchen.

Depending on your skin type there are so many options. Find one that matches you and will help your skin feel and be healthier. My skin is really oily and has some breakouts so I try to use as many natural masks and products as possible. I recently tried a homemade mask with oatmeal and honey which was really good.
You can find the recipe for the oatmeal mask here: DIY Oatmeal Mask With Honey
Now if you don’t really have the time for all of the above you can always just do only a quick face steam. I find the face steam much more important than the other steps when it comes to my face. It always feels really smooth after. Make sure you don’t forget to moisturize your face in any case!
DIY Manicure
Since we’re more or less in lockdown it’s probably been a while since you last visited your nail expert. Take some time to make sure your nails in good condition. Even if you’re no expert you can keep your nails in shape.
If you have residue gel or acrylic nails there are a lot of tutorials on internet to help you remove them safely. Make sure you’re doing it right because you don’t want to destroy your nails.
Take a relaxing Bath/Shower
I do love a nice soak in the bathtub when it comes to relaxing. A couple of candles and a bath bomb are a must. Alternatively, opt for a DIY milk bath. It will help you unwind and make you feel like a modern day Cleopatra.
Don’t forget to use a body scrub to remove the dead cells on your skin. I know there are lots of good body scrubs to buy but I always make a homemade sugar scrub it’s supper easy and effective. It will leave your skin so smooth you won’t believe it.
Here is recipe to get you started on sugar scrubs: Homemade Blush Pink Sugar Body Scrub with Essential Oils

If you still have the hair mask on don’t forget to rinse it off and you’re good to go!
Put on your pajamas and just relax or go to bed. After have such a relaxing day it won’t be too hard to fall asleep and rest.
