Welcome to the second part of my makeup routine. Make sure you read the first part before continuing: You can find it here:
Now that we have covered the first part of the perfect makeup routine which is all about the skin and how to make it look flawless it’s time to talk about eyes and lips makeup. Eyes and lips are important for your makeup routine since they will give your face the necessary intensity.
Step 1: Brows
Recently brows are very important and prominent in makeup. The 20s are the decade of thick brows. I have seen many makeup artists and girls on YouTube use brow soaps to shape their brows, it seems like a useful tool but I haven’t used it do I don’t have a personal opinion on the matter. I do use a brow pencil in a shade lighter than my brows to fill in and shape them. I like to keep things simple. Make sure you don’t use too much since you don’t want to make your eyebrows too harsh.
Eyeshadow has become my favorite part of my makeup routine. I recently got the Revolution x Patricia Bright Eyeshadow Palette and I love it so much!! It has a lot of bright colors which is why I bought it anyways and the colors have quite a lot of pigment too which is great for such an affordable palette. I love experimenting with different color combinations; it always makes feel a little extra when I go out. If you’re not into bright colors or you just getting started I would suggest a nude palette.
Step 3: Eye Liner
Eye liner is the hardest think to nail in a makeup look. We all know it. Unfortunately, you can’t put eyeliner before eyeshadow since you’ll probably smear it all over your eyelids, believe me I know. I would suggest practicing your eyeliner on a bare face because a wrong move could ruin your whole look and we don’t want that. I prefer liquid eyeliner but pencil style eyeliner will also do the job.
Step 4: Mascara
Last but not least, mascara. Make sure you choose waterproof mascara; you don’t want to look like a panda by the end of the day. You’ll probably be a cute panda but still a panda! Apply a generous amount and you’re good.
We’re almost done. Lip makeup is just as important as the rest of your makeup so don’t skip it even if you want to add a simple lip balm.
Step 1: Lip balm
You want to make sure your lips are properly moisturized before putting anything else. If you don’t plan on using any lipstick you can use a lip balm with some color to achieve a natural look, otherwise a colorless balm is ok.
Step 2: Lip Liner
I prefer using a lip liner in almost the same shade as my lipstick but the trend now a days says you could go a shade darker if you refer, just make sure the transition is smooth. Line the shape of your lips and create an outline you’re going to fill with lipstick.
Step 3: Lipstick
Fill the outline you made with your favorite lipstick. Find the formula that works for you. I prefer matte lipsticks but you can also go for something shiny.
Final Step: Setting your makeup
Use a setting spray to make your makeup last for hours. I really think the Urban Decay one is really good even through it is a little pricey.
Now you’re ready to go out and have fun looking amazing!
